• Sealants – Sealants are a clear liquid that is painted on to children's teeth to help prevent decay
• Teeth Cleaning – Our fantastic hygienists, Kim & Laura, will take extra care in cleaning your teeth, checking for periodontal disease and even screening for oral cancer. They can treat mild to advanced cases of periodontal disease with the newest technology available.
• Fillings – Fillings,or dental restorations, are various materials that replace tooth structure that was lost to decay. The particular type of filling is determined on a per patient basis. Although amalgam (silver) fillings have stood the test of time, advances in composite(tooth colored) fillings have given us more choices in restoring teeth.

• Velscope Oral Cancer Screening – The Velscope is the newest advance in oral cancer screening. This device emits a safe blue light into the mouth which picks up cancerous or pre-cancerous changes in their earliest stages. The procedure is quick and painless.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

At Grand Avenue Dental we are on the cutting edge of available dental technologies and therefore we are proud to offer a variety of cosmetic dentistry options. Don’t love your smile? Change it. With the help of Dr. Peter Wilk and staff, you can! Cosmetic procedures can include whitening to tooth movement to laser gum re-shaping to porcelain veneers and crowns.

WHITENING FOR LIFE

We feel that every patient in our practice deserves to have a smile they can be proud of. That’s why we are excited to offer our patients a unique program we call Whitening for Life.

When you come to our office for your initial exam and x-rays, we will provide you with custom made bleaching trays and material for a one-time enrollment fee. Then, at each recommended preventive visit (cleaning), we will give you a complimentary touch up kit of bleaching gel. This ensures that you will be able to keep your teeth bright and beautiful for life.

In return, we ask that you keep your six-month preventative visits (cleaning) current.

LASER DENTISTRY

One of the newest technologies in the dental field is the introduction of laser dentistry. At Grand Avenue Dental we have incorporated the use of lasers into many areas of treatment. Lasers give us much more precision and control than say a typical drill, and often the laser can eliminate the need for anesthesia when restoring teeth.

PERIODONTAL TREATMENT

The treatment of the gums is just as important as cleaning your teeth, as the gums support the teeth. Periodontal health is checked at each general cleaning here at Grand Avenue Dental, and we can treat certain periodontal problems right here. Besides affecting the support of the teeth, gum disease can contribute to illnesses ranging from diabetes to heart trouble.

IMPLANT DENTISTRY

Implant Dentistry is on the forefront of dental technology and Dr. Wilk is proud to offer it here at Grand Avenue Dental. If you have missing teeth and do not like the idea of a denture or partial denture, an implant could be an option for you.

JAW JOINT PROBLEMS

TMD, which stands for the Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction, is considered one of the biggest underlying causes for migraines, back pain and neck pain. Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction, is when the joint in your jaw does not align properly, therefore putting stress on your facial and neck muscles. This stress and tension, in turn, can lead to further problems in your neck, back and head. Dr. Wilk believes in the importance of treating this fairly common but undiagnosed problem and is happy to offer many non-invasive options to relieve his patients of pain.

INVISIBLE BRACES

Invisible braces uses is a series of clear trays that you wear all day every day (except while eating) that allow the function of braces to work to straighten your teeth, without having to display the typical obvious metal brackets so commonly associated with braces. These also reduce visits to the dental office for tightening and adjustments as instead of tightening the brackets in your mouth, with invisible braces, each 2-3 weeks you get a new clear tray to wear in your mouth, which is tighter than the last one.

SLEEP DISORDERS

Sleep apnea and other sleep disorders can cause real problems in patients lives outside of just not getting enough sleep. Breathing problems, exhaustion can all affect us in our everyday lives. The mild to moderate cases of sleep apnea are best treated by an oral device which positions the lower jaw at night to open the airway when the patient is asleep.

SEDATION DENTISTRY

Dr. Wilk and his staff realize that not everyone is comfortable visiting the dentist and having their teeth cleaned or work done in their mouth. However, here at Grand Avenue Dental, we do everything possible to create a comfortable, friendly and inviting environment to put all of our patients at ease. If you are extremely anxious or worried, we also offer Sedation Dentistry. This means that we can deliver dental services to the fearful patient when he or she in a sleepy or hypnotic state.
